Emitac picks up Logitech rights

Contract covers distribution in the GCC, Levant and Egypt

Dubai-based distribution house Emitac has added peripherals vendor Logitech to its portfolio of products. The contract covers the GCC, the Levant and Egypt.

The deal means the distributor will carry Logitech’s mainstream offerings including mice, keyboards, webcams, speakers and notebooks accessories. It will also hold responsibility for products from the vendor’s newer categories such as streaming media and universal remote controls. Emitac now joins ITE Distribution as one of Logitech’s main distribution partners for the UAE.

“Emitac Distribution’s strong channel network and retail infrastructure look to be an excellent match for both our geographical and market focus,” proclaimed Yousef Atwan, the recently appointed regional director Middle East and Eastern Africa at Logitech.

Atwan’s sentiments were echoed by Amer Khreino, general manager of the distributor. “Our network is ready to support Logitech’s growth across the Middle Eastern region and our resellers have the local outreach that a brand like Logitech needs to reach its customers efficiently,” he said.

Meanwhile, Emitac Distribution's sister company, Emitac Enterprise Solutions, has announced a tie-up of its own by signing a deal with information security vendor SafeNet.

The move will see Emitac Enterprise Solutions extend its security capabilities and provide enterprise security solutions in the region. The pair describe the market as largely untapped with Emitac confident that the partnership will allow it to make serious in-roads into the enterprise security segment.

"The two companies jointly offer comprehensive security services in the region to address the enterprise security needs of government and commercial customers," said Gary Clark VP for the EMEA region at SafeNet.
