Fuel prices in the UAE will remain the same in May as they have been in April, according to an announcement from the UAE’s Fuel Price Committee.
In April, the committee announced a 20 percent drop in fuel prices compared to May.
According to the committee, Super 98 costs AED 1.91 per litre, compared to AED 1.80 per litre for Special 95 and AED 2.06 for diesel.

The prices come at a time in which the roads of the UAE have been largely empty as a result of restrictions imposed to combat the spread of Covid-19. Only in the recent days have restrictions on movement been lifted during the day.

Globally, consumption of oil fell significantly throughout May as a result of airlines staying grounded during the coronavirus pandemic. The month also saw US crude fall into negative territory for the first time.
