Washington Enterprises Emirates has taken the front-end engineering package for a sulphur-handling facility being developed by the Abu Dhabi Oil Refining Company.

The project is being developed within the company’s Ruwais Industrial complex to expand the operation’s sulphur-handling capacity.

“This project for Abu Dhabi Oil Refining Company will add to our extensive history in the design and construction of oil, gas, and petrochemical facilities in the Middle East and elsewhere in the world,” explained Stephen Johnson, senior executive vice president of Washington Group.

The firm also recently picked up a contract to provide design, equipment procurement, and construction services for a sulphur-handling facility in Qatar.
