Zaid Alqufaidi takes on the challenge of streamlining company's existing retail network into a single brand.
ENOC has appointed Zaid Alqufaidi as its new chief executive officer-retail business stream for EPPCO, in a move designed to consolidate its retail business.
In his new role, Alqufaidi will spearhead an aggressive business plan that will bring additional focus on the retail business.
As part of his long-term vision for the company, he will streamline the existing retail network, transforming the business into a single ENOC brand and explore new markets to strengthen the existing ENOC presence in international markets.
"As the local demand for refined products increases and the fuel retailing business becomes more sophisticated, it is crucial to drive the business in a new direction and retain our leadership position," he said.
"I foresee that my new role is going to be dynamic and challenging and I look forward to embarking on this new journey in my career."
An engineering graduate from the University of Central Florida, Alqufaidi has enjoyed a diverse career at ENOC since joining the Group in 1988.
Starting out in the position of engineer in the EPPCO Operations Department, he was later promoted to operations coordinator and played a major role in the EPPCO boom during the construction of the retail network.
Over the years, Alqufaidi has made considerable progress in his career within the group. Before assuming his current position, Alqufaidi was assigned to the role of deputy operating officer for the EPPCO Group of Companies.
"ENOC is committed to developing the skills of its work force, recognising their strengths and rewarding hard work. Zaid Alqufaidi has displayed a quest for knowledge, great leadership skills, commitment to the growth and expansion of the company. His skills and expertise will help drive our retail business in a new direction and this move is in keeping with the new structure within the ENOC Group," said Saeed Abdullah Khoory, ENOC group chief executive. For all the latest retail news from the UAE and Gulf countries, follow us on Twitter and Linkedin, like us on Facebook and subscribe to our YouTube page, which is updated daily.
