Emirates Petroleum Product Co announces plan to help customers at 10 stations in Dubai
Emirates Petroleum Product Company (EPPCO) service staff will be available to help customers with the switch over to self-service fuel dispensing when it is introduced to 10 stations in July.
The company said the move was in response to concerns raised by customers prior to the new system that is being introduced during night hours.
EPPCO said in a statement that staff members will assist the customers, where needed, in fuel dispensing, to enable the public to easily shift to the new system.
The self-service facility will be implemented at 10 EPPCO stations along Al Wasl Road, Oud Metha Road, Jumeirah Beach Road, Mankhool Road, Al Nahda Road, Nadd Al Hammar and Al Qusais, from midnight to 6am.
"One of the concerns raised was that they might need assistance initially in fuel dispensing. In response, EPPCO service staff will extend support to customers initially, enabling them to confidently and safely fill the fuel themselves," the statement said.
At the 10 sites, which have been chosen for the relatively low vehicular traffic during night hours, customers can fill fuel themselves and only have to pay cash inside the ZOOM store.
"The sites selected for the self-serve fuel system have been modernised with advanced fuel dispenser system and other support functions that will make filling fuel easier for motorists," EPPCO added.
"The introduction of self-service will result in no staff redundancies as affected staff members will be deployed in other stations within the network."
Cannot imagine an Emirati or other GCC national filling their car with gas. Watch for the imminent political backdown by EPPCO!
