Ericsson Mobile will appear at GITEX Technology Week with an exciting array of intelligent city applications including IPTV and edge routing. "Participating at GITEX is part of an annual plan to engage proactively with the Middle East.
We hope to meet our customers there as well as their customers," says Jeremy Foster, Ericsson marketing manager in the UAE.
With an established presence in the region for more than 50 years, Ericsson counts more than 20 Middle Eastern telecomms operators amongst its clients.
"We have the leading position in core and access networks along with the largest installed base in EDGE technology. We have delivered 3G networks with HSPA (high speed packet access) functionality to many operators in the region," says Foster.
Many of these networks are operated and managed by Ericsson and supported by its portfolio of managed services, consultancy and services delivery expertise. "This enables operators to focus on marketing value-added services to their users," claims Foster. "Added to this is our global services delivery centre in Lebanon, which gives customers local expertise to call.
"The most exciting part of our industry is its evolution to deliver multimedia services and on this front Ericsson has built its portfolio of services to make it possible to give individuals and communities the interactive and highly personalised services they value," says Foster.
