ERP market has new contender

German subsidiary Glowise shows new Arabic version, promises to establish network of referral partners to create a new knowledge base.

Glowise software technologies has chosen its appearance at GITEX Technology Week as the ideal venue to unveil a new Arabic language edition of its flagship Canias enterprise resource planning software.

German enterprise software specialist IAS established Glowise in the region last year to tap into the emerging market for advanced ERP solutions.

The firm's business development manager Manu Vargese outlines his initial plans for the local office: "When Glowise started its operations in October 2007, our first objective was to have a handful of local Canias ERP reference sites within the first year. With this process we also wanted to adapt Canias with the local market requirements thus creating a launch pad for substantial growth for the second year.

"Now, with the successful completion of our first year and accomplishing both the above mentioned objectives, we look forward for more market penetration and tackle new territories and sectors which weren't our key focus areas until now," he adds.

Vargese is confident that Glowise will be able to find resellers at GITEX: "We look forward to apprising the region's solution providers of Canias ERP's impeccable track record for the last 15 years in successfully implementing end-to-end industrial automation projects across Europe.

We are also keen to engage in constructive dialogue with experienced and qualified ERP solution providers throughout Middle East which will enable us to take CANIAS ERP to untapped territories."

He offers some thoughts on how GITEX will enable this growth: "Being the region's biggest IT exhibition, GITEX offers us the ideal platform to showcase Canias ERP and reach out to our target audience. This is our debut GITEX participation and we are using this as a venue to proclaim the dawn of Canias in the region's ERP market.

"We also want to address the maximum number of prospective customers and partners, consultants, solution providers, and avid ERP enthusiasts, creating a consortium with which we can work towards achieving our common goals," he adds.

Glowise's other main objective at GITEX is to propagate the Arabic version of its Canias ERP software, as part of its overall plan to tackle those markets for which Arabic is a mandatory requirement. Varghese aims to recruit partners in all three major regions of the Kingdom and work hand in hand with them in approaching the manufacturing sector in particular.

"We want to create a network of partners and engage with them for wider market reach, within the targeted region - eventually increasing our UAE referral base to double digits.
