ETC prepares for extensive iBaan ERP rollout

After an extensive selection process, Emirates Techno Casting opts for an enterprise resource planning (ERP) suite from Bann.

Emirates Techno Casting (ETC) is preparing for an extensive rollout of the iBaan enterprise resource planning (ERP) application suite. ETC, a manufacturer of alloy steel valves, pump castings and cathodic protection systems, has signed up with Baan’s local solution partner, Bitech International, to conduct the implementation.“We had an extensive study and short listing of leading ERP software solutions for the last one year or so before we chose the iBaan suite of products as we felt that it addressed most of our business requirements,” says Faizal E. Kottikollon, managing director of Emirates Casting. “The commitment shown by presales team of Bitech and Baan Middle East during the entire process was excellent,” he adds. The implementation is part of ETC’s expansion programme in the Sharjah Hamriaya Free Zone, which will boost manufacturing output to 12,000 tones per annum by the end of 2003.iBaan will be used to standardise ETC’s procedures and integrate its business processes throughout its multi-site organisation. “ETC has an overall objective of integrating its various business activities in UAE using Baan ERP and provide world class service to their customers,” comments Kottikollon.Initially, iBaan will be implemented at the factories in Ajman and Hamriya free zone. The ERP suite will then be rolled out to the ETC’s other divisions in the next six months.
