Etihad Holidays talks shop

Tour operator rolls out retail concept in Abu Dhabi.

Etihad Holidays has introduced its holiday shop concept to Abu Dhabi.

The tour operator's first shop, which sells Etihad Holidays and Etihad Airways products and services exclusively, has opened in Al Wahda Mall, with more set to open including one in the new Khalidiyah Mall.

Etihad Holidays general manager Tony Gauci said the shops aimed to offer "a complete travel sales experience" as the company looks to further boost traffic across Etihad Airways' burgeoning route network.

"Opening two holiday shops in Abu Dhabi will not only help us communicate with our customers in a more convenient and comfortable environment, it will also enable us increase the brand-awareness of Etihad Holidays especially with the ever increasing range of holiday destinations now serviced by Etihad," he said. "Holidays are such an important time for everyone and we hope that the innovative visual displays and the enthusiasm and expertise of our sales staff will provide our customers with a real taste of what their holiday will be like."

The Etihad initiative comes at a time when competitors such as Emirates Holidays and Dnata Holidays are looking to roll out similar holiday shops across the GCC.

Dnata Holidays already operates its Holiday Lounge on Sheikh Zayed Road but is poised to roll out a new improved version of this concept any day now.
