Etihad plans US recruitment drive amid expansion
Etihad Airways

Etihad Airways is launching recruitment days in key cities in the United States as the Abu Dhabi airline embarks on expanding its network in the US.

Recruitment days will take place in Chicago, New York and Washington DC early in 2014 with applicants urged to register in advance on Etihad's website.

Earlier this month, Etihad said it plans to launch direct flights to Dallas Fort Worth, Texas, in 2014, its fifth destination in the United States.

The addition of the new ultra-long haul three flights a week service will start on December 3, 2014.

Dallas joins the other US cities of Chicago, New York, Washington DC, and Los Angeles (to launch on June 1, 2014) on the Etihad flight network.

The addition means Etihad Airways will provide 31 return flights each week between the UAE and US by December 2014.

Etihad did not say how many new staff it was looking for in the US but said new cabin crew members will undergo a seven-week training programme in Abu Dhabi.

Aubrey Tiedt, Etihad Airways' vice president, Guest Services, said: "To support the rapid, dynamic expansion of Etihad Airways, we are delighted to host our recruitment drive in the US. We hope to attract individuals with a great passion for guest service and hospitality to join our multinational and multicultural cabin crew team."

More than 200 US nationals currently work for Etihad Airways, including 66 pilots and 27 cabin crew.
