Etihad says Abu Dhabi airport ops resumed after fog closure

Abu Dhabi airline warns that further delays are expected on Monday following two-hour airport closure

Etihad says Abu Dhabi airport ops resumed after fog closure

Abu Dhabi's Etihad Airways has announced the resumption of operations at Abu Dhabi airport after an early morning closure due to severe fog on Monday.

After a two-hour closure, all diverted flights have proceeded to Abu Dhabi and delayed outbound flights have begun departing, a statement by the airline said.

However, Etihad expects further delays throughout the day as aircraft are repositioned and flights are rescheduled.

Sixteen inbound flights to Abu Dhabi were diverted on Monday morning to other, nearby airports such as Dubai World Central, Sharjah and Al Ain, as well as to Muscat and Bahrain.
