Etisalat aims to cement status as number one telco provider

The UAE’s incumbent operator Etisalat is determined to have a stronger presence than ever before at this year’s event, given the moves currently underway to usher competition into the market next year.

The UAE’s incumbent operator Etisalat is determined to have a stronger presence than ever before at this year’s event, given the moves currently underway to usher competition into the market next year.

Etisalat has been the sole telecoms service provider in the UAE since 1976, and has established an advanced network in that time. Thus Etisalat is keen to continue using Gitex as a platform to interact with its customers, as well as senior representatives from industry participants, and to facilitate the sharing of knowledge and expertise through technical and business discussions. The telco’s primary objective at the event is to connect with customers and industry peers in order to ensure the sharing of knowledge and the forging of mutually beneficial partnerships.

The telco is set to showcase its full range of products and services including those from eCompany, Etisalat’s provider of internet services and ICT solutions. eCompany is aiming to utilise the event to strengthen relationships with customers and partners and provide them with high-value solutions through a single point of contact. The company has facilities to provide a complete portfolio of internet offerings, value added services and consulting.

E-vision, a wholly owned subsidiary of Etisalat, which provides digital cable television and multimedia services to the residents of the UAE, will also be represented at Gitex. E-vision’s network transmits programmes on hybrid fibre and coaxial cable with enhanced picture quality.

“We wish to stand side-by-side with the best technology companies in the country and region, and talk business, technology and the future with key personnel and industry leaders,” says Ahmed Bin Ali, Etisalat PR manager.

“We look forward to forging partnerships and relations with companies so as to play a key role in assuring quality telecoms services across all regions,” he adds.

Etisalat views Gitex as invaluable to its efforts to connect with industry movers and shakers. “With such networking opportunities with our industry peers and partners, we have been able to achieve success in our efforts of going international,” Bin Ali states.
