Telecom operator says a change to some of its packages helped it increase its number of SME customers, and promises to introduce more offerings in 2014
Telecom operator Etisalat witnessed accelerated growth from the small and medium enterprise market during 2013, citing revamped packages as a leading reason.
In a bid to tap into the potential of the growing SME sector, Etisalat updated some of its packages to offer greater flexibility, value for money, and access to the latest devices without any up-front costs.
Its Business Ultimate packages, Corporate Pooled and Per SIM offerings, as well as new tiered business prepaid plans helped attract more SMEs, according to the company.
John Lincoln, senior vice president of business marketing at Etisalat, said: “The SME sector in the UAE has grown exponentially in terms of size of business and contribution towards the country’s economy.
“Many of the local businesses are looking at the next level of growth outside the UAE. This requires support from the government as well as improved connectivity and communication to all their stakeholders.
“Etisalat has always supported the segment with the launch of packages that suit these dynamic business requirements. In the coming year we see growth potential from the SME business segment, and therefore will continue to launch new services and enhance the network.”
