Members of EuroFM, including representatives from the BIFM, met in Austria last month.
The Vienna University of Technology hosted the 50th meeting of the organisation which brings together national FM associations, academic and research centres from more than 15 countries.
Work was done in three networking groups, practice, research and education.
The practice group, chaired by BIFM International SIG chair Dave Wilson, discussed several projects, including a survey of national associations and the ‘knowledge-mapping project’ led by Fred Child, chair of the BIFM’s Knowledge Committee.
The education group heard presentations on a database to facilitate teacher exchange; a directory of European FM education provision and a proposal for an annual meeting of FM heads of academic partners.
The first meeting of the editorial board for a new ‘e-publication’, European FM Insight, agreed the process for producing the first issue by the end of the year.
Twenty publications from 12 countries, including four from the UK, have agreed to provide content.
