Qatar has signed an agreement to bring Europe's number one business school to the Gulf state.

Qatar Foundation and HEC Paris said they have inked a deal for the French school to set up in Education City and offer executive education programme for senior managers.

“HEC Paris becomes our first French partner,” Qatar Foundation president Dr Mohamed Fathy Saoud said in comments published by Gulf Times on Tuesday.

Ranked as Europe’s number one business school for four consecutive years by the Financial Times, HEC Paris will offer Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) and research programmes, the paper reported.

“We are pleased with the inauguration of this partnership by offering one of the most prestigious programmes of HEC Paris for senior management in the industry and business community of Qatar and the region,” Saoud added.

Total, the French energy major, intends to make HEC Paris in Qatarits primary centre for manager and executive development and continuous education in the Middle East, the report said.

“Offering this executive-level programme in Doha demonstrates HEC’s commitment to bringing our expertise to the service of firms in Qatar,” said HEC Paris dean Professor Bernard Ramanantsoa.

"It's good to be important, but it's more important to be nice". It's wonderful to have high standards setting in where we also need to see the deliverable levels and are we equipped to handle the sustainibility issue. Why do we need to make big hue and cry for No. 1 and the rating business. Let the people decides over a period of time and what matters is delivering responsible business executives and citizens who contribute significantly in their areas and resepective field. There has to be blend of perfect goals, objectives with subjective approach...It can be made achievable with long term strategy...
