Panos, one of Europe's largest sandwich shop chains, has opened its first outlets in the UAE, with plans to develop 25 more across the Gulf region over the next seven years.

Dubai Investments Park has announced the opening of the first café and restaurant of Panos which has 240-plus outlets across Belgium, Luxembourg, Poland, Slovakia, Netherlands, Czech Republic and Taiwan.

The company said in a statement that it is planning to invest AED31 million to open 25 outlets across the GCC.

Panos has also opened its café at Sahara Centre, Sharjah, with Jumeirah Lake Towers to follow, the statement added.

Panos Restaurant and Café in DIP features a full-service restaurant, café kiosk, as well as specialist pastry, cake and bakery lines.

Alaia Lakkis, general manager at Panos, said: "Panos is thrilled to open its first outlets in the UAE as part of its strategic growth plans in the region. Every detail - from menu to the décor - of our restaurants and cafés across the UAE has been meticulously planned.

"The food is classically Belgian, served with finesse and complemented by Belgian warmth in a relaxed but sophisticated ambience."
