Contract said to be worth $35.7m
Eversendai Corporation has won a contract to renovate the Khalifa Olympic Stadium in Qatar, according to Malaysia dailyThe Star.
It said the company had secured a contract to work on the arena that was originally built in 1976 and was upgraded in 2004 for the Asian Games.
The deal is reported to be worth $35.7m.
Under the contract, Eversendai will undertake the total renovation comprising re-engineering and dismantling of the existing lighting arch and ancillary steel structures, engineering, supply, fabrication and construction of steel structures.
Eversendai's executive chairman and group managing director Tan Sri A K Nathan said the contract would bring the total amount of new deals secured by Eversendai to date in 2014 to $350mn and current order book to $540m.
