HP emphasises the importance of adaptive infrastructure at Dubai’s Citrix Forum – which took place at the Jumeirah Beach Hotel in Dubai on January 27 and tackled issues relating to the server industry.HP took a large presence to the Citrrix Forum at the Jumeirah Beach Hotel in Dubai on January 27, including Ryan D’Souza, product manager of industry standard servers. The buzzword among the HP delegates was adaptive infrastructure, which is HP’s answer to the current climate of shrinking budgets and resources. HP insists that businesses need to be adaptable if they are to survive. Adaptive infrastructure is a set of integrated ProLiant technologies that enable businesses to adapt. It relies on using hardware architecture and software that is flexible.HP’s adaptive infrastructure blueprint includes four key elements. It stresses virtual presence and control, which means that businesses should be able to use the internet so access and control their resources wherever they are. It also emphasises being able to allocate resources quickly to clear bottlenecks and also automated systems provision. Finally, there is intelligent fault resilience, that is, being able to quickly diagnose and correct problems that arise. HP feels that its ProLiant server solution, with its range of hardware and software products, fulfils all of these criteria.
