Networking specialist Extreme Networks and security manufacturer McAfee have come together to address secure networking for enterprise end-users.
The pair claims that, in combining portfolios, it can present secure and unified network solutions to enterprises with high performance Ethernet networking and threat management solutions.
“McAfee is joining forces with Extreme Networks to extend reliable and secure networking to our mutual global customers, allowing them the best possible choices in securing their applications and communications with simplified, high performance solutions,” stated Dan Ryan, executive vice president, network security business unit at McAfee.
“Customers can be more confident in their IT and business endeavors through intelligent integration of their network and security infrastructures,” added Ryan.
The alliance will culminate in a joint marketing effort from both organisations and interoperability testing that they claim will support secure network solutions. The security vendor says that under the agreement end-users will be able to benefit from its cloud-based Global Threat Intelligence service which is supported by research experts.
Furthermore, networking clients will be able to optimise the management of their security through McAfee’s ePolicy Orchestrator software — a centralised management console to help secure organisations from a vast and ever-growing threat landscape.
On the networking hardware side of the tie-up, Extreme Network is able to offer customers simplified, high performance Ethernet network infrastructure addressing data convergence with its ExtremeXOS-based BlackDiamond and Summit Ethernet switches. The vendor’s extended portfolio also includes enterprise network management and services that run from the data centre and cloud computing infrastructure in the core to the edge of the LAN.For all the latest tech news from the UAE and Gulf countries, follow us on Twitter and Linkedin, like us on Facebook and subscribe to our YouTube page, which is updated daily.
