Job opportunities will be created by @bahrain once scheme is complete, firm says.
Some 2,500 jobs will be created in Bahrain when construction of @bahrain is complete, the firm said on Tuesday.
The company, which shares the same name, estimates that once fully operational @bahrain will attract more than 3.5 million visitors a year.
Covering more than one million square metres, @bahrain is one of the largest projects under construction in the country over the past five years.
Projections have come from the company’s new business plan put together by consultants Monitor Group.
“The strategic concept for @bahrain has proven so compelling that even in the current downturn, investors and partners continue to express unprecedented interest in this unique destination”, said Kim Eckerman, a partner with Monitor Group.
“As a truly visionary project unlike anything being delivered today, we believe that Monitor Group has been the vital first step in making this bold project a reality,” said Nicola Pero, @bahrain group chief executive.
The firm has appointed Aedas as the project’s master planner and Incognitus as the venue operations and sustainability consultant.
