First look: Louis Moinet's UAE Falcon watch

Swiss watchmaker Louis Moinet has created a UAE-inspired timepiece, the UAE Falcon, which has gone on display at Dubai Watch Week (DWW).

The platinum timepiece features the bird sitting atop the tourbillon while grasping the hour and minute hands between its claws.

With a 47mm case, the watch's manual movement beats at a rhythm of 21,600 vibrations per hour.

It's dial is emblazoned with the four colours of the United Arab Emirates flag.

The brand chose the falcon for its role in the daily life of Emiratis as well as its importance in the history and the culture of the UAE, it said in a press statement.

The timepiece can be viewed from October 18 to 22 at the Louis Moinet stand at the DWW.
