flydubai cancels Beirut flight over 'technical reasons'

More than 100 passengers stranded at Dubai airport after last minute cancellation.

More than 100 passengers were stranded at Dubai airport on Saturday after flydubai cancelled a flight to Beirut at the last minute because of "technical reasons".

"Flydubai would like to apologise to our passengers for the cancellation of our service to Beirut this morning due to technical reasons,” the low-cost carrier said in a statement.

“We understand that this was very frustrating for our passengers and we regret the inconvenience caused.”

Gulf News reported that passengers were given the option to rebook on another flydubai flight or to cancel their booking with a full refund.

"As a gesture of goodwill we have offered all passengers a free return ticket to anywhere on our network. Vouchers will be sent to passengers in the next few days," the firm said.
