The Gallivanter's Guide has named Four Seasons Resort Sharm El Sheikh best hotel in the MENA region for 2007.

The annual Gallivanter's Awards for Excellence saw the 136-room Egyptian resort receive the accolade after the publication held an annual readers poll, which also saw Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts win best hotel group worldwide, along with eight further first places and 28 listings across all categories.

"Four Seasons is, without doubt, the twenty-first century benchmark for excellence in all its guises, reflected by a veritable cascade of votes this year," said Lyn Middlehurst, Editor of the Gallivanter's Guide.

"For although you sometimes crave the more reckless hotel-keeping, Four Seasons remains where your heart and home is. Like good parents, it provides a genuine welcome along with chicken soup."

Four Seasons Resort Sharm El Sheikh won a position in the same category in 2002 shortly after its opening and was named one of the top five best resorts in Europe, Middle East and Africa in 2006.
