Fujitsu Siemens Computers (FSC) and EMC are expanding their 10-year partnership, with the announcement last week that they will collaborate on storage, management and protection technologies.
At the CeBit trade show in Germany, the two vendors said they were to create a services framework for advanced data centre architecture and would work closely together on developing technologies to support that framework.
The collaboration will focus on developing technologies for FSC’s FlexFrame, BladeFrame and Primergy computing platforms, as well as enhancing interoperability with solutions from software firms SAP and Microsoft.
The pair also said the IT Product Services (ITPS) division of FSC had become a certified member of the EMC Authorised Services Network programme, which will allow FSC to provide services to customers in EMEA using EMC midrange networked storage solutions.
“Today we’re taking one of the strongest partnerships in the industry and bringing it to a new level for the benefit of our customers,” said FSC chief executive Bernd Bischoff. “The immediate benefit for our customers is ITPS gains deep and valuable knowledge on EMC midrange storage solutions to deliver complete end-to-end solutions.”
Joe Tucci, EMC chairman, president and CEO, added in the statement: “Together, Fujitsu Siemens Computers and EMC will deliver information infrastructure solutions that meet customer needs and help customers exploit new technologies to improve business efficiencies.”
FSC is EMC’s second largest reseller worldwide – after Dell –and it already sells the storage giant’s Clariion disk array under the FibreCat brand. For all the latest tech news from the UAE and Gulf countries, follow us on Twitter and Linkedin, like us on Facebook and subscribe to our YouTube page, which is updated daily.
