Advanced Integrated Media (AIM) is in talks with Fujitsu Siemens Computers (FSC), the Saudi distributor has said.
AIM last week claimed to IT Weekly sister publication Channel Middle East that the pair had met recently to discuss the chance of rekindling an in-country distribution relationship that collapsed last year.
AIM ceased ordering notebooks from FSC towards the end of the third quarter, citing grievances over the support it received during a period of heavy over-supply earlier in 2006.
Following a five-month standoff, AIM insists it is now willing to reactivate the partnership in Saudi Arabia.
“We want to get back with them again, but it must be under certain conditions,” explained Bassam Abu Baker, group general manager at Riyadh-based AIM.
FSC recently appointing local heavyweight BDL as a distributor in Saudi. While it denied BDL was a straight replacement for AIM, the firm would not say if it intended to resume its alliance with AIM.
