Fujairah beach hotel goes coco

Most hotels renovate rooms or restaurants, but the Le Meridien Al Aqah is stepping outside of the resort for its latest hotel improvements.

Most hotels renovate rooms or restaurants, but the Le Meridien Al Aqah is stepping outside of the resort for its latest hotel improvements.

The hotel has embarked upon an initiative to plant 100 coconut trees at the beach area of the resort, making it the first coconut beach in the UAE. The hotel also plans to develop the barren land around the property in an effort to spruce up and landscape the area.

“We are very excited about creating the UAE’s first coco-beach in Fujairah, which will give the leisure traveller one more reason to visit us. The coconut trees planted along the beach area of the hotel will be exclusively available to our guests. In addition, the enhanced landscaping, which will involve development of the barren land around the property, will further beautify the vicinity whilst supporting our environmental initiatives,” said Patrick Antaki, general manager, Le Meridien Al Aqah Beach Resort

Le Meridien Al Aqah Beach Resort has been actively involved in promoting tourism to Fujairah whilst participating and supporting various initiatives to develop and preserve the resources of the emirate. In its two years of operations, the resort has partnered with a variety of environmental initiatives including Clean Up Arabia and Emirates Environmental Group (EEG).
