Fujairah Media Group (FMG) plans to launch at least two more new radio stations as part of its expansion plans for 2011, the company said on Sunday.
FMG, which was formed as a joint venture between the Fujairah Cultural and Media Authority and Arab International Media Services, recently acquired a stake in Virgin Radio Arabia in Jordan and is now looking for further growth this year.
Fujairah Media manages a Free Zone in Fujairah known as Creative City, a media management and technology cluster.
The Group ended 2010 with the launch of a new TV channel (Krazee TV) and unveiled a reformatted 92.6 FM Radio - formerly known as Fujairah FM Radio.
Fujairah Media is now building new studios to develop TV and cinema production in Fujairah, it said in a statement.
Mekki Abdulla, CEO, Fujairah Media Group, said: "Over the past years we have been carefully plotting out the components of Creative City. In 2011 we will see more key pieces fall into place to establish our Group as a highly respected member of the Middle East's rapidly growing media industry."
Fujairah Media recently signed a deal to jointly develop a new business park to be known as Smart City on a one million sq ft site on the east banks of the Blue Nile in Khartoum. It will include a five star hotel and Arabian Cinema Complex similar to the one under construction in Fujairah City. For all the latest UAE news from the UAE and Gulf countries, follow us on Twitter and Linkedin, like us on Facebook and subscribe to our YouTube page, which is updated daily.
