Fujitsu Siemens Computers (FSC) has released it’s new Primergy S30 storage subsystem for its server range.
The 19-inch rack model or floor-standing storage unit can be combined with clustered computer node servers in a data centre server farm.
The Primergy S30 has been designed to be easy to administer, especially for data storage.
The compact rack has up to fourteen 1” hot plug SCSI hard drives in a single 3HU unit, accommodating 9, 18 or 36GB hard drives.
High availability of applications is facilitated by “hot-plug” functions for redundant components as such as fans, power supplies and hard drives.
Server redundancy is made possible with dual node SCSI input module, which allows two Primergy servers to be connected for to one SCSI channel.
A Datapro report from the start of the year, said that the Primergy range offered exceptional price/performance compared with midrange proprietary RISC servers.
Anthony Peck, marketing director for FSC MENA said: “We are currently in the course of expanding our own staff and sales force in the Middle East, and we have a strategy of conducting business in this region via a network of well-selected sales partners.
"We do not want to make the mistake of over-distribution like some of our competitors, since this could lead to a decrease in service and quality; good service and high quality is something that FSC has always placed great emphasis on.”For all the latest tech news from the UAE and Gulf countries, follow us on Twitter and Linkedin, like us on Facebook and subscribe to our YouTube page, which is updated daily.
