Fujitsu has unveiled its ServerView Resource Coordinator VE (RCVE), which it says will enable enterprises to create dynamic infrastructures from virtual and physical servers in data centres and cloud computing environments.
The vendor points out that with the rise in adoption of cloud computing and server virtualisation, companies are looking for a solution which will provide them with simplified and unified management to ensure their systems are fully optimised.
“The management and allocation of server resources has become intrinsically more complex, thanks to virtualisation and the trend towards cloud computing,” said Chandan Mehta, product manager at Fujitsu Technology Solutions.
“Businesses across the region are looking to reduce costs and yet get the best out of their IT investment in touch times, and with the Resource Coordinator VE, Fujitsu is delivering a powerful new tool that enables dramatic simplification, streamlining and cost savings within the data centre, through the effective, consolidated management of holistic server resources,” he added.
The complexity in management that has come about as a result of the proliferation of server virtualisation, such as patch management, routine maintenance and break-fix considerations, mean that manufacturers including Fujitsu are looking to capitalise on the end-user need for consolidation and simplification of networking systems.
The firm claims that the RCVE answers this demand by offering the uniform, automated management of diverse and heterogeneous pools of virtual and physical servers, and providing server lifecycle management from a graphics-based management console.
The product is compatible with Fujitsu’s Primergy Blade servers as well as racks and servers from the same range. The RCVE will also work in conjunction with x86 servers from other vendors and integrates hypervisors from leading virtualisation vendors including VMware, Microsoft Hyper-V and Xen.For all the latest tech news from the UAE and Gulf countries, follow us on Twitter and Linkedin, like us on Facebook and subscribe to our YouTube page, which is updated daily.
