In pictures: Dubai Ruler Sheikh Mohammed opens New Media academy
The first-of-its kind digital academy in the Middle East will train media professionals in the public and private sector and develop social media content creators. The new media provides job opportunities and supports the development process.
UAE Prime Minister and Dubai Ruler Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has launched a new media academy aimed at training digital marketing sector’s future workforce, it was announced on Monday.
On Twitter, Sheikh Mohammed said that the New Media Academy was “created to equip new generations of media professionals with digital media skills.”
The academy will begin operations on July 7 with the launch of online classes in social media, digital marketing and content creation.
The academy will have a physical campus, and will also provide educational programmes through digital masterclasses to develop social media content creators and build digital marketing and social media skills.
Participants in the programmes must complete 190 hours of learning to graduate from programmes, including 110 hours of classroom instruction, 30 hours of e-learning, 15 hours of expert talks and 35 hours of projects.
Also attended by Deputy Ruler of Dubai HH Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
