Apple CEO Steve Jobs launched the thinnest laptop in the world on Tuesday at the annual Macworld expo. (GETTY)

The MacBook Air is just three-quarters of an inch thick and weighs three pounds.

Apple worked with Intel to reduce the size of the processors in the MacBook Air to enable its small size. The laptop also includes a multi-gesture touchpad, similar to the iPhone. (GETTY).

Apple also unveiled the Time Capsule, a wireless backup appliance that will be available in 500GB and 1TB capacities.
