German consultancy firm Dorsch Gruppe has been awarded a contract for construction supervision consultancy services for the flagship Lusail City development in Qatar, it was announced on Tuesday.
Lusail Real Estate Development Company announced the deal, saying Dorsch Gruppe will be responsible for 11 multi-task construction packages including a variety of engineering disciplines.
Lusail City, which will have 200,000 residents and capacity to accommodate twice that many people, is scheduled to be completed by 2019.
The city will include manmade islands, an entertainment district, an office park for energy companies, a golf course and five stadiums.
Lusail Real Estate CEO Essa Kaldari said: “Awarding this prestigious and unique project to Dorsch Gruppe Supervision Consultant Services was done after careful consideration and evaluation of the project’s need for a consultant committed to the successful and timely delivery of the contract.
“Considering the significance of Lusail City and the scale of work required, we found Dorsch Gruppe to be a suitable partner.”
Olaf Hoffman, president of Dorsch Gruppe, added: “First-class technical solutions, consistency of costs and adherence to schedules have always been our goal for the planning and implementation of every one of our construction projects.
“We will supervise the project locally with our on-site experts from our Doha office.”
Hoffman said: “This partnership represents an opportunity to expand our expertise in Qatar, as we continue our work in line with Qatar’s National Vision 2030.”
