Football star David Beckham’s representatives have refuted claims the former England captain could be on his way to the Qatar Stars League.
Reports in the UK’s The Sun newspaper on Wednesday suggested free agent Beckham had been offered a US$32m two-year contract by Qatari officials, with a further PR role as ambassador for the Qatar 2022 World Cup.
However, the midfielder’s next club looks likely to be elsewhere in the world, with the UAE a possible destination. Dubai team Al Wasl has been mentioned as having an interest in the ex-Manchester United, Real Madrid and LA Galaxy star.
Beckham has reportedly had offers from 12 clubs around the world, including Europe, South America, North America, South Africa, the Middle East, Russia and China.
The 37-year old is expected to make a decision on his future next week.
