Oman has sold 1 million barrels of prompt October loading crude at a low price following an outage at a local refinery, traders said on Wednesday.

The cargo was sold to European firm Mercuria Energy Trading at parity or a discount to the grade’s official selling price (OSP), which has been set at $109.05 a barrel, they added. October Oman cargoes were mostly sold at a premium of $1.30 a barrel to Dubai quotes.

A fire struck the 106,000-barrel-per-day (bpd) Mina Al Fahal refinery on Friday, and it was supposed to have restarted on Tuesday, the sources said.

Omani and Mercuria officials were not immediately available for comment.
