India’s full-service airline Vistara on Thursday launched a new daily direct flight service to Dammam from Mumbai.
This is the carrier’s second destination in Saudi Arabia, after Jeddah, and the fifth destination in the Middle East region.
Vistara said it will deploy its A320neo aircraft with a three-class cabin configuration – business, premium economy and economy class – for its new service to Dammam.
Vinod Kannan, Chief Executive Officer, Vistara, said the airline was delighted to commence operations to Dammam, a major administrative hub in Saudi Arabia and home to a large Indian diaspora.
“The addition of Dammam to our growing international network is in line with our goal to further strengthen our presence in the Middle East,” Kannan said.
Dammam will be the fifth destination in the region – after Dubai, Jeddah, Abu Dhabi and Muscat, he said.
Vistara, a joint venture between the Tata Group and Singapore Airlines, is currently in the process of getting merged with Air India as part of the Group’s plans to integrate its airline businesses.
