The Saudi capital Riyadh on Tuesday witnessed the launch of Black Hat, the world’s largest technology event, for the first time in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.
The first day of the event saw over 75 activities – workshops, sessions and technical challenges – with the participation of several global speakers and companies from the cybersecurity sector and attendance of more than 10,000 visitors.
The event was organised by the Saudi Federation for Cybersecurity, Programming and Drones (SAFCSP), in partnership with the General Entertainment Authority (GEA).
The sessions discussed the latest developments in the field of cybersecurity and cyber considerations, ways to combat fraud and cybercrime and how to identity theft and fraud.
The sessions also discussed ways to escape from cybercrime, information protection, cyber risk assessment, and the possibility of transforming cloud operations, networks and security.
The workshops were held on topics varying from drones’ hacking, forensics, biohacking and an improved model for detecting credit card fraud using machine learning.
The workshops also dealt with issues related to the art of hacking infrastructure, ransomware and cyber resilience in the digital age, in addition to detecting sophisticated attack techniques for hacking.
Welcoming the participants, Turki bin Abdulmohsen Al Al-Sheikh, chairman of GEA, said Riyadh hosting the biggest technology reflected the confidence entrusted in the country’s capabilities in the digital and technological fields.
The event also saw a display of drones forming Saudi Arabia’s flag, SAFCSP logo, the Riyadh Season, besides few creative drawings.
