Several Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs), including one between Saudi Arabia’s National Cybersecurity Authority (NCA) and its international counterparts, were signed at the second edition of the Global Cybersecurity Forum, which ended in Riyadh on Thursday.
The NCA agreement is for cooperation in the areas of cybersecurity and enhancing the protection of children around the world from cyber threats.
The forum also witnessed the signing of a set of agreements between a number of national and regional authorities to promote cooperation in cybersecurity.
The forum – a global interactive platform for sector specialists from government and private sectors, non-profit organisations, and educational and academic circles around the world – enables knowledge transfer on cybersecurity issues and building the foundations for cooperation among countries
The two-day event in Riyadh saw participation of 9,000 sector experts from more than 117 countries.
The forum witnessed holding of more than 40 dialogue sessions on a wide range of issues such as prospects for change in the cyber landscape, cyber economies, geo-cyber development and the future of cyber work. The dialogue sessions also touched on the importance of international cooperation, discussing practical solutions to bridge the cyber gap globally, exploring the future of cybersecurity, and ensuring the achievement of cybersecurity for all societies.
