Two Asian nationals died on Sunday after an empty fuel tank exploded in a maintenance shop in Abu Dhabi, state news agency WAM said.
The incident took place around 9.30am in the Mussafah 11 district of the capital. An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the incident.
Lt. Colonel Mohammed Abdullah Al Nuaimi, director general of the Civil Defence in Abu Dhabi, called for increased safety precautions following the incident.
