Kazakhstan has been allocated a pavilion measuring 3,420 square metres, one of the largest at the event.

Kazakhstan is to spend around $23.5 million on its pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai, as part of plans to attract up to $10 billion in new foreign investment during the six month event, according to reports in the country this week.

According to Minister of Trade and Integration Bakhyt Sultanov, nine billion Kazakh tenge ($23,512,835) has been allocated for the country’s participation in the event in Dubai, reports claimed.

“[Kazakhstan] wants to attract $10bn of foreign investment. For this to happen, we need to take part in the Expo 2020 in Dubai slated to be held from October 20, 2020 till April 10, 2021. Kazakhstan will unveil its national pavilion as part of the technological cluster which will be visited by many investors from all corners of the world,” First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Alikhan Smailov, was also quoted as saying.

It is estimated Expo 2020 Dubai will attract 25 million visits, with around 70 percent coming from overseas.

After the event finishes in 2021, the pavilion will be dismantled and transported back to Kazakhstan.

Kazakhstan has been allocated a pavilion measuring 3,420 square metres, one of the largest at the event. The theme for the pavilion has not yet been unveiled.

The country confirmed its participation in Expo 2020 Dubai in May 2017, just a month before it hosted its own expo Astana EXPO 2017, which launched in June 2017 under the theme ‘Future Energy’.
