Procedures for temporary admission of goods to be exhibited at Expo 2020 will be refined and made easier.

Goods used by exhibitors at Expo 2020 Dubai will be exempt from customs duties.

Dubai Customs has put in place new procedures to make sure goods used at the Expo 2020 Dubai site are processed quickly and efficiently, according to a statement by UAE state news agency WAM.

Commenting on the announcement, Abdullah Mohammed Al Khaja, executive director of Customer Management Division, said: “We work hard to ensure best services and facilities are delivered to participants in Expo 2020. Reducing their clearance time is our priority. Now exhibitors can complete their registration online without a need for a physical visit to the customs centres. We will also facilitate permits of restricted goods issued by local and federal entities.”

“Procedures for temporary admission of goods to be exhibited at Expo 2020 will be refined and made easier,” he explained. The WAM report confirmed that goods used for the event “will not be subject to any customs duties”.

Expo 2020 Dubai will run from October 20, 2020 to April 10, 2021 and it is estimated the event will attract 25 million visits, with around 70 percent coming from overseas.
