A new ten-day festival in Dubai – Al Shindagha Days – is set to launch on January 9.
Aimed at placing Al Shindagha firmly on the global cultural map, the event, which coincides with the 25th edition of the Dubai Shopping Festival, will introduce visitors to the ancient history of Dubai and promote the traditional heritage of the emirate.
The celebration of Emirati culture will take place around the Al-Shindagha neighbourhood, including Al Shindagha Museum, the Perfume House, the Historical Documents Centre, Saruq Al Hadid Archaeological Museum and the waterfront area in old Dubai.

Hala Badri, director-general of Dubai Culture, said: “This festival sheds light on the local culture and heritage in a new way. It also allows the younger generation to establish a link between the current and the ancient times, by understanding important aspects and values related to the history of Dubai.”
Dubai Culture is organising the event, which will feature a range of cultural and entertainment activities, in collaboration with the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM), supported by mobility partner, Careem.
