Etihad Airways will resume transit flights from Melbourne to London from this Friday, operating on a weekly basis.
The Abu Dhabi carrier said passengers travelling from Melbourne will remain on board the aircraft when it lands in UAE capital, with no international transit passengers allowed under current Covid-19 restrictions.
Etihad said it will start weekly transit flights from London to Melbourne on May 21, also on once-a-week basis.
All Etihad London operations will arrive and depart from London Heathrow, Terminal 2, The Queen’s Terminal.
In keeping with current procedures for airline passengers in the UAE, face masks are recommended during the flight and onboard food and drinks service will in line with important Covid-19 guidelines. Passengers will also be “seated with as much space as possible between every guest”.

On Friday, Etihad announced plans to operate inbound passenger flights for UAE residents wishing to return to the country.
