The Dubai carrier will resume flights to Cairo (from 1 July), Tunis (from 1 July) and Malé (from 16 July)

Emirates airline continues slowly rebuild its network with three more destinations restored, including flights to Glasgow from July 15.

The Dubai carrier will also resume flights to Cairo (from 1 July), Tunis (from 1 July) and Malé (from 16 July), bringing the total number to 52 in July, about a third of its pre-Covid-19 peak of 161.

Emirates said only Tunisian nationals and permanent residents of Tunisia are currently able to travel to Tunis from the UAE. Travellers originating from certain other countries may enter Tunisia with/without restrictions. The return flight from Tunis to Dubai and onwards, however, is open to all customers as long as they meet the travel requirements of their destination, it added.

Customers from Emirates’ network will also be able travel to Dubai following the announcement last week that the city will be open to business and leisure visitors from July 7, Tourists coming to Dubai should hold an international health insurance policy covering illness from Covid-19 for the duration of their stay.

On board, Emirates has introduced Covid-19-related health and safety measures for passengers, including the distribution of complimentary hygiene kits containing masks, gloves, hand sanitiser and antibacterial wipes.

Customers are also reminded that they will only be accepted on flights if they comply with the eligibility and entry criteria requirements of their destination countries
