A senior Expo 2020 Dubai executive has been hired by Jumeirah Group as general manager and director of experience of Inside Burj Al Arab, a new butler-guided tour of the iconic hotel.
Andy Nicholson previously led headline projects as exhibitions and pavilions senior manager for Expo 2020 Dubai and arrives at Jumeirah with a reputation for delivering award-winning curated experiences.
In his new role, he will help bring Inside Burj Al Arab to life as a premium experience at the ‘original home of luxury’, a statement said.
Ermanno Zanini, regional vice president and general manager for Burj Al Arab Jumeirah, said: “With his wealth of knowledge working on globally renowned attractions, we are thrilled that Andy will be at the helm of Inside Burj Al Arab to ensure visitors experience a true sense of wonder.
“I have no doubt that, in his capable hands, the tour will become a must-see experience in Dubai for UAE residents and international visitors.”
As well as Expo 2020 Dubai, Nicholson’s track record also includes roles with major London tourist attractions, including head of visitor experience at the V&A London – the world’s leading museum of art and design – and a seven-year tenure as head of visitor experience for the phenomenally successful Warner Bros Studio Tour, London – The Making of Harry Potter.
He has also held roles at leading attractions such as Tower Bridge Exhibition and The Monument and the iconic British Airways London Eye.
