Food ordering platform Deliveroo is joining its rivals in what seems to be a crowded market for online grocery delivery services.
The company is partnering with supermarket Choithrams to launch the service on its app, which it claims could complete a delivery in 15 minutes.
Deliveroo is a bit late in the on-demand grocery delivery scene, with other big platforms such as Talabat, Careem, and Noon already offering the same service for months.
“Residents across the UAE continue to look for increased convenience in their daily lives,” Anis Harb, the company’s Middle East general manager said in a statement. “We continue to build on our passion for food and Deliveroo Hop reinforces the same commitment, enabling us to become the definitive food company.”
Called “Deliveroo Hop,” the service will only be initially available to customers in Motor City, Sports City, Barsha South, Jumeirah Village Circle, Jumeirah Village Triangle, and Arabian Ranches.
