RTA announced around 6 AM on Friday morning that the Dubai Metro red line was affected by a technical fault and the metro service between Equiti station and Jebal Ali was temporarily halted.

Alternative buses were swiftly provided between both stations for ease of commute.

The fault was resolved at around 7 AM and services resumed to normal.

RTA has announced various initiatives recently, earlier this month RTA launched a 7-day vehicle testing service.

Technical testing of vehicles will run throughout the week on a trial base for two months starting from Sunday, January 8.

The trial will be held at Al Mutakamela Vehicles Testing And Registration Centre, and Tasjeel’s Used Car Market Centre.

In December, Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) confirmed that 2,166,821 passengers used its public transport, shared mobility means and taxis during New Year’s Eve 2023 celebrations.
