Following the change to alcohol taxes and licenses in Dubai, pubs in the UAE have seen a reduction in their bar menu prices.
Emirates Leisure Retail (ELR), has implemented a price reduction across all Mr. Toad’s Pub and Kitchen outlets located in Premier Inn Hotels across Dubai as well as Seafarers Bar and Kitchen Jafza, the company said in an emailed statement.
ELR, which owns and operates a wide portfolio of restaurants, cafes and bars across the Middle East, Australia, Asia, USA and East Africa, said the move is in line with the recent directives from the Dubai Government relating to the removal of the 30 percent municipality tax.
Mr. Toad’s Pub and Kitchen has also launched a new bar menu to highlight its new lower prices on alcoholic beverages, called “Every Hour is Now Happy Hour”, with drinks available for as low as AED20.

“The list of beverages available reflects a notable reduction in the menu price, with selected bottled hops set at AED20 and a glass of house grape available for AED25,” the statement said.
“Following the government directive to withdraw the 30 percent municipality tax on alcoholic beverages, we are pleased to work proactively to reduce menu prices across Mr. Toad’s Pub and Kitchen outlets in Dubai. Every decision we make has our customers at the core, and we are pleased to announce everyday low prices, offering even better value that starts today,” Maritime and Mercantile International (MMI) and ELR group chief executive officer Tyrone Reid said.
The new prices at ELR Outlets include:
- Pints now starting from AED25
- Selected bottled hops now starting from AED20
- House spirit and mixer AED25
- Double house spirit and mixer AED40
- Glass of house grape AED25
- Bottle of house grape from AED99
- Selected cocktails from AED30

Guests at Seafarers Bar and Kitchen in Jafza Jebel Ali Free Zone, which is also under ELR, has also reduced beverage prices.
“Guests can enjoy a bottle of grape for a lower cost of AED99 and selected cocktails for only AED30 each,” the statement said.
An individual in Dubai must be at least 21 to consume alcoholic beverages. Alcohol is allowed to served and consumed at licensed public places and in private.
