Sales of Cadillac vehicles in the Middle East in the first half of 2010 grew 29 percent compared to the same period in 2009.
The American carmaker announced sales of 1,617 units during this time, according to a statement on Sunday.
In Saudi Arabia, the region’s largest market, Cadillac sales between January and June this year increased by 52 percent, compared to the same period last year.
Meanwhile the UAE market grew by 27 percent, Kuwait went up by 30 percent and Lebanon grew by 56 percent.
According to the statement, 560 vehicles were sold in Saudi Arabia, 356 in the UAE and 304 in Kuwait.
The best selling car by Cadillac was the Escalade, whose first half 2010 sales grew by 11 percent over the same period in 2009, followed by the CTS entry level luxury sedan and the SRX luxury crossover utility vehicle.
Cadillac said its first half 2010 growth in sales was a “marked departure from the same challenging period in 2009”. The carmaker expects sales to increase for the remainder of this year.
“Cadillac has successfully grown its customer base by attracting a younger audience with a boldly designed product lineup,” said Thierry Sabbagh, Cadillac brand manager in the Middle East.
