Two health facilities have been temporarily closed in the UAE over several violations committed by the healthcare centre and a health complex. The Abu Dhabi Department of Health (DoH) announced the closures to protect the health and safety of the patients and allow the facilities to take rectification actions.
Violations committed by the facilities include failure to adhere to safety procedures and means of infection prevention, use of expired materials and tools, and non-compliance with the standards and regulations for medical waste disposal and the storage of blood units.
The health facilities also faced other violations including a lack of licensed physicians in the specialities mentioned in the facility’s license.
The violations also included non-compliance with the engineering and technical layout of the facility’s plan, approved by the Department of Health (DoH), and the failure of members of the medical staff to carry out the prescribed vaccinations.
The DoH inspection and control teams will conduct future visits to the healthcare centre and health complex to verify that correctional procedures have been taken.
All facilities are urged to comply with its policies and regulations to ensure safety and security of all community members.
