Federal government employees with children enrolled in school will be able to take up to three hours off work in the first week of the school year, the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources has announced.
The move is designed to allow parents to arrive at work late or leave early to allow them to drop their children off at school or pick them up at the end of the day.
Employees will also be able to request permission to leave work to attend parent-teacher conferences or graduation ceremonies.
The decision follows a recommendation from the National Programme for Happiness and Positivity and the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources.
